POSITION TITLE: JustGeorgia Field Director
LOCATION: HQ IN Atlanta

THE GEORGIA NAACP is a statewide not-for-profit 501(c)4 nonpartisan civil rights organization whose mission is to secure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons.
Job Description
The JustGeorgia Field Director will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the JustGeorgia Coalition’s programs, training, and will coordinate movement-building actions in the field. The job includes on the ground efforts to build grassroots capacity in planning and coordinating direct actions and other programs to fulfill the demands of the coalition. This position will be based at the Georgia NAACP but will include emphasis in Southeast Georgia. We are a collective of Georgia organizations, activists, faith leaders, attorneys, and justice-seeking community members. We believe that the killing of Ahmaud Arbery was the result of decades of systemic harm against Black Georgians. We hold two truths: (1) that many in our communities want to see that the killers of Ahmaud Arbery are accountable for the trauma they have inflicted on an entire community and (2) that our contributions must better equip Georgians to respond to the multiple systemic ills inflicting violence on our communities on a daily basis.

Preferred: Indigenous to or lives in Southeast Georgia. College degree in related fields or at least 5-10 years of experience. Progressive leadership in social justice spaces
Additional Information
The position requires travel throughout Georgia and occasionally to other parts of the country. The person selected for this position will work independently and must be able to work with little supervision. The successful candidate must pass a background check. The position is open until filled.
