“Protest to the Polls,” is a call to action formulated to arm Black citizens against suppression tactics and ensure that their vote counts in the November 2020 elections. It is critical to rally, in order to ensure our communities have access to voter education information and are registered to vote.   Organized by the National Urban League, the event follows the clear systemic voter suppression attempt made by Trump and his supporters and is designed to bridge the voter registration gap among members of the black community. With suppression tactics ranging from allowing only a few locations to be open due to COVID-19, voter identification laws, and attempting to sabotage mail-in voting via defunding the United States Postal Service– now more than ever is the time to exercise our constitutionally-given right to use our voice.   The disenfranchisement of Black voters is not difficult to conceptualize as it happens every election.
